Warning Echoes

One day I stood upon the shore I stood there tall and proud I thought myself a sailor true No waters could confound So, I built myself a sturdy ship I built her well and strong But waves took over much too fast As if to prove me wrong Here’s our hope, ye lads and lasses Here’s our hope for all Stay ashore, ignore the waves Heed not the siren’s call

My tale is much the same, my friend My tale ends with a fall With magick cast upon the hull I’d take the waves and all But the waves were not the only snag The waves were not alone Below the depths a creature swam Whose teeth cut through the bone Here’s our hope, ye lads and lasses Here’s our hope for all Stay ashore, ignore the waves Heed not the siren’s call

So many men had tried before And many men had failed I thought we need a gentler touch What if a woman sailed? But Fae do not discriminate By gender, race or creed They tracked my ship and drug it down To pull me like a weed Here’s our hope, ye lads and lasses Here’s our hope for all Stay ashore, ignore the waves Heed not the siren’s call

So here we float upon the shore We float here gold and bright Our lives were lost, we took the call And turned our souls to sprites Sail not upon those waves of Fae Swim not into the deep We three found naught beyond the bay Save death’s eternal sleep Here’s our hope, ye lads and lasses Here’s our hope for all Stay ashore, ignore the waves Heed not the siren’s call
